The End of the Marathon

My husband ran his first marathon this weekend. Of course I took lots and lots of pictures, but this one is by far my favorite. The kids spotted him heading toward the finish and ran across the field to him. I thought they were going to give him high fives and cheer him on, but they ran with him all the way to the end.

I have lots of running around to do today (and everyday). I have a couple of totes that I plan to list tonight, but for now, a pouch.

Apple Squeeze 2010

Fall just wouldn't be complete without a visit to the historic Johnson Farm on Anderson Island for the annual apple squeeze. Rain or shine, we go every year. This year it was....RAIN!!!













Afterwards, we took a jaunt to the land to check out how our grass seed was coming along from our work day 2 weeks ago.





Woo hoo! (Stop with the dirty thoughts--that's I LOVE YOU in sign language, as in, "I love you grass seed, thank you for sprouting!")

Harness

My dog fell asleep with her harness on last week. I put her in her crate, and when she woke up, instead of letting me know she was awake, she entertained herself by gnawing through her harness. Argh. Dog stuff is not cheap, and when you have to buy two of everything, it's hard not to feel a little bit ripped off sometimes. Anyway, in the lifespan of a dog, I have no idea how many harnesses we're expected to go through, but I think it makes sense to try to figure out how to make these things, since I'm not totally useless when it comes to a needle and thread.

It helps to have little doggies that I can control on a leash with literally ONE finger. I don't recommend braiding fabric and expecting that to contain a dog much bigger than this.

verdict: Not sure if this is really my style, but it fits her and she hasn't complained yet, AND it was dirt cheap--so YAY!!!!
